As we’re all isolating during these crazy wild times, it’s especially important to slow down and take care of yourself. We’re all dealing with this exceptional situation in our own way, but if we can, we’ll help a little bit! So, here’s a list of what we’ve been doing so far that has helped us take the time to re-center and be patient…
Making our own face mask
Feeling good in your skin can definitely start with skincare. Taking time to dive into it is a great way to feel better, and a little bit more like yourself. While we’ve seen the thousands of recipes for banana bread online, let’s switch up a little and use these fruits as a face mask! Find a (super easy) recipe here.
Taking a yoga class
While we’re staying home, we have to admit it, our posture when bingeing another Netflix show is not our main worry. We’re definitely in need of a stretch, and we can’t recommend Alo Yoga’s Youtube channel more for that! Easy to follow, relaxing and actually making a change, these classes have helped us find a great way to feel calm.
Journaling
Going through a global pandemic is something we process all in different ways. It can feel overwhelming, stressful, and it’s hard to keep yourself at bay when bad news come flowing through the day. Writing down those feelings, taking the time to write about your future goals, remembering memories with photo albums, can be a great way to get your mind off and think about more positive times coming.
Learning that new skill we’ve been talking about for years
Knitting, a new language, painting, how to play piano… The list goes on! There’s never been a better time to learn and teach yourself some new skills. The ones you’ve been meaning to get to but didn’t have the time: now there’s plenty of it! Starting slow, one step at a time, without any pressure is the best way to learn and be patient with yourself.
Releasing the pressure
As we see workout classes, everybody baking, being productive… it’s also essential to take time to relax and feel no pressure at all. Listen to yourself and what you want to do. If it’s staying in your pajamas all day, then so be it. If it’s meditating for hours because you can’t watch the news for more than 5 minutes, then so be it. And if you feel like being more productive than ever, that’s great too! Even though we give advice and ideas on what to do, we’re also big on the ‘doing-whatever-you-can’ thing. As we go through this global pandemic, let’s remember to take the time to actually be ourselves and do what feels good to YOU.
