Celebrating Women: Meet Sharnee Thorpe @sharneethorpe

This International Women’s Day, we’re honoured to share conversations with women who are shaping their worlds in their own way.

Women who lead, nurture, create, rebuild, question, persist.

Women whose strength isn’t always loud but deeply rooted.

Through these interviews, we celebrate the stories carried quietly, the resilience forged through lived experience, and the power found in showing up again and again.

This is a celebration of women, of depth, of becoming.

Meet sharnee Thorpe

As the founder of Wandering Folk, she has built more than a brand she has created a way of life. One rooted in nature, beauty, slowness, and connection. Mornings drenched in golden light. Evenings gathered around a fire. First blooms, full moons, and the simple luxury of being outdoors.

Her work reflects her philosophy: wander often, wander wide. Collect stories. Collect friendships. Collect inspiration. Let life unfold beyond four walls.

But behind the soft linens and sunlit picnics is something deeper: vision, resilience, and courage. Building a business inspired by nature requires intuition. It requires trusting your creative voice. It requires choosing a path that may not look conventional, but feels aligned.

The pieces she wears feel like an extension of that spirit effortless, grounded, meaningful. Jewellery that travels with her. That catches the sun. That feels collected, not consumed. A quiet reminder of the journey she’s walking, both personally and professionally.

Because for Sharnee, what she wears isn’t just an accessory. It’s a reflection of intention. Of freedom. Of living deliberately and beautifully.

In Her Own Words

Beyond the brand, we asked Sharnee what being a woman means to her and how she defines strength and empowerment.

What advice would you give to young women?

"Trust your inner voice and work really hard to follow your dream, confidence comes with courage and believe that you're worthy."

What does international women's day mean to you ?

"Well, It happens to be my birthday ! Sooo I think that maybe that was a reason why I was born on this date… and it’s obviously a special day in that way and I think that just celebrating women in general because we are such incredible creatures and we are a force."

"I’m very lucky to have met some incredible women that are on the same founding journey as me and we are working the same path so learning from each other as we move forward."

What is the most defining moment for you as a woman ?

"I think it has been growing babies and birthing them into this world. Feeding them and watching them grow has been an eye opening and powerful incredible thing to be able to do as a woman. It's the most powerful, transformative thing you can ever do and watching them grow alongside me growing as a person has been an incredible journey so far."

Listening to Sharnee, empowerment can be soft. It can look like choosing a slower path. Like building something from instinct. Like honouring creativity and carving your own version of success.

There’s strength in that kind of living.

Jewellery becomes a symbol of that intention. A piece worn not for validation, but as a personal marker. A reminder of freedom, creativity, and the courage to wander your own way.

Sharnee wears two Saint Pendants : each one reflecting not only who she is, but the values that guide both her life and her work.

-The first is Saint Valentine : a symbol of love, devotion, and kindness. Living in the 3rd century, he became known for secretly marrying couples when marriage was forbidden, believing deeply in the power of love even during times of hardship. His quiet compassion and bravery made him a lasting emblem of selfless love and heartfelt connection.

For Sharnee, this piece is deeply personal.
“I live my life with love and kindness.”

Wearing Saint Valentine is her way of honouring that philosophy, to lead with an open heart, to build with care, and to move through life anchored in compassion.

-The second is Mary Magdalene : a symbol of grace, loyalty, and inner strength. Remembered as a devoted follower of Jesus, she is associated with courage, forgiveness, healing, and renewal. Across history, she has embodied unwavering faith and the quiet resilience that carries us through change.

Sharnee shares,
“I believe that there is a higher good, a higher power, a higher goddess up there that is looking down on us and helping us lead our way.”

Wearing Mary Magdalene is a tribute to that belief, to trusting guidance beyond what we can see, to staying loyal to your path, and to finding strength in softness.

Together, these two pendants tell a story. Of love and faith. Of kindness and conviction. Of wandering freely, but never without intention.
