10 Simple ways to Show your Love for our Mother Earth today (Even more than you did yesterday!)

We're big time fans of our beautiful Mother Earth & love to learn, share & pass on ways in which we can show our love for her, more & every day! This Valentine's Day we are focussing our love on our Mother Earth by planting 10 trees for every online order until the 14th of Feb (We've been planting 10 trees since the beginning of 2020 - Australia needs our help right now!)

Here we wanted to share 10 simple ways in which you can show Mother Earth a little extra love in your daily lives.

1. Plant a Tree. It could be in your own back yard or head off and join a local tree planting day! (Great weekend activity to rally your pals to also!) We love the work and word that One Tree Planted are sharing across the globe. You can donate or participate through them, check out their website over here. 
2. Switch to Organic. It can be daunting at first but a great easy step is to head to the Organic Section at your fruit & vege stall or supermarket and swap out the vege's you already have in your basket for the Organic version! They might cost you an extra couple of dollars but you can enjoy the extra flavour explosion through the meals you create with Organic Veggies AND you now that no chemicals are lacing the leaves / internal organs of your fruits & veges!
3. Say NO to plastic bags. Or any bags that you don't need! Be sure to always be carrying your reusable tote bag in your handbag, car, scooter.... so you are never left without a carry bag! 
4. Choose to walk to work instead of driving. Too far? Jump on public transport instead! No Public transport near your office? How about Car pooling with a few other people in the office & share the load / petrol? San Francisco does this so well, I hope the rest of the world gets into it soon!
5. Do as TAKE 3 FOR THE SEA promote & do and 'Take 3' pieces of rubbish from any river, ocean or waterway when you visit. By doing this we are all helping to fight the current global plastic pollution crisis & removing plastic from entering our waterways & killing our ocean animals. 
6. Reduce the amount of waste you generate. There's so many ways you can implement this but a few easy changes are to: Opt to eat in at restaurants & limiting your take aways (Or taking your own containers for them to fill), buy your grains from refilleries instead of packaged at the supermarket, buy in Bulk and shop from local markets where the produce is all locally sourced. 
7. Shop from Op Shops for items you may need. I LOVE heading to the Op Shop to pick up a new book, more Jars for re-filling up on Rice, lentils & grains and even picking up a new Puzzle (Nerd, I know...). When you're done you can simply return to the Op Shop for a new owner to enjoy those items!
8. Only buy items (especially clothing) that you ABSOLUTELY LOVE. Sure, go shopping, try it on, go home, think about it.... think about it again.... and again. Do you really need it? How many seasons will you get out of it? How well will it wear? Is it made from Natural fibres (Always buy natural!)... If after a few days you still can't stop thinking about it and will wear it at least 100 times, treat yourself :)
9. At the end of a products life, work out how to best recycled or re-purpose it. Close the loop by recycling to the right person. Ie. Take your old phone's to a phone shop so they can best recycle them to get the most out of the item. Old jewellery laying around? Send it to us for a credit & know we will repurpose it into new jewels! 
10. Start a veggie Garden! Not only will you save money, you will get to spend more time in nature and be able to share the fruits of your labour with friends & family. Oh, and your fruit & veggies will taste that much more delicious that supermarket stock!
