Must Try I hear you say? Yeah yeah.... But this is no joke! This Raw Snickers slice is a legitimately better than the real deal snickers. Don't believe me? I dare you to make it and see for yourself...
Not only is this delicious slice insanely moreish (And all your friends will think you're uber trendy when you tell the its Raw, RSF, GF basically all the 'Frees') it's super easy to make! I whip this bad boy up weekly in my nutri bullet and leave it in the freezer to enjoy a piece in the afternoons / evenings when I need a little pick me up.
It ALSO makes for a great gift to friends. Birthday & not sure what to give them? Friend just had a baby? Pal just had an operation & want to treat them with something healthy? Your girlfriend is just over life & needs a pick me up? **INSERT SNICKERS SLICE**
Ok Ok, I can hear you drooling through the screen.... Without further ado I present to you your new favourite go-to healthy snack:
RAW SNICKERS SLICE
INGREDIENT CHECKLIST:
- Dates (8 - 10 Medjool or 16-20 Normal dates)
- 1 Cup of Almonds
- 3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
- 1 tespooon Vanilla Essence
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Peanuts or Almonds
- Chocolate to melt OR
- 1/2 Cup Cacao Powder
- 1/4 Liquid Sweetner
- 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
STEP 1: BASE
- 6 Medjool dates, stones removed (When I don't have Medjool on hand, I use 12 normal dates instead)
- 1 Cup of Natural Almonds
- 3 Tablespoons of melted Coconut Oil
Blend all 3 ingredients in a blender (I like to use my high speed nutribullet but whatever you have on hand that will get through the almonds!) until they are well combined. Press into a loaf tin and then pop it in the Freezer to set for around 1 hour. I use a cake tin which is approx. 22cm x 22cm
STEP 2: CARAMEL MIDDLE
- 1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
- 1/4 Cup of Water
- 2-3 Medjool dates (OR 4-6 normal dates)
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Essence
After 30 minutes / your base is set, blend all these ingredients in the blender until its niiiiiiice and creamy. Add a little extra water if needed (If your peanut butter is a little dry)
Press this 'Caramel' on top of the base layer and then sprinkle with some chopped peanuts.
STEP 3: CHOC TOPPING
You can either melt down your favourite chocolate in a bowl over a pot of boiling water and drizzle it on top of the slice or, I like to make my own 'Chocolate' topping which is:
- 1/4 Cup of Liquid Sweetener (Honey, Brown Rice Syrup or Maple Syrup)
- 1/4 Cup of Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
Melt the Sweetener and Coconut Oil together and then place the Cocoa Powder into the bowl. Mix together and then drizzle over the slice.
Pop it all in the Freezer for 2 hours for it to set, cut it up, place it in a container & back into the freezer for your everyday afternoon delicious pick-me-ups!
Easy huh? Now go on, try it for yourself and let us know in the comments on DM us on insta and tell us HOW GOOD this Snickers slice is!
P.S. No judgement if you eat the whole slice in one sitting. It's full of all the goodstuff and you won't feel sickly afterwards.... just sayin'....
