One of the biggest mistakes we see?

Incorrect removal of gel or BIAB. Peeling it off, forcing product away from the nail, or over-filing might save time in the moment but it can seriously damage the nail plate. Thinning, sensitivity, long-term weakness… even infections or fungal issues if bacteria reaches the nail bed. Removal should always be slow, gentle, and precise. Healthy nails underneath are always the goal. At Rosie’s, we will never rush this step ever.

And then comes preparation the step many places skim over. Proper cuticle work, careful shaping, refining the nail surface… This is what allows gel to adhere correctly and last without lifting. When this stage is rushed, not only does the manicure fail faster, it’s also less hygienic. If your removal and re-polish takes under 45 minutes, that’s a red flag.
