Lauren Fritz of The Greenest Blue reached out to us when we launched our Take 3 for the Sea Charity T-Shirts (Which are available for purchase over here - $25 from the sale of each Tee heading straight to the Non-Profit!) and over the past few months we have loved connecting with her both via email and through her inspiring Blog.
Lauren is a Dolphin Guide (Does a job get any cooler than that!?) in the small coastal town of Kaikoura, New Zealand and says that she has a personal mission "to inspire readers to live agreener lifestyle in order to protectthe big blue."Amen to that sister.
Lauren's blog 'The Greenest Blue' is a place of inspiration for us all to live and enjoy our lives to the fullest while being conscious of the environmental impacts that our daily actions have. Don't worry - it's not all doom & gloom in fact Lauren aims to inspire, ignite and help guide mindful choices to protect this special planet and 'Big Blue' ocean we are so lucky to have surrounding us. It's legends like Lauren that work day in and day out in the ocean and with the animals that call the ocean home that help bring the confronting issues and consequences of our actions to the front of our minds.
I absolutely love her recent '8 weeks Eco Challenge' which presents ideas and choices for the common consumer (That's us my friends) and questions whether we are currently making the best choices for our oceans. You can read up her 8 week blog post series over here and gain some great insight into why we should all be questioning these topics and start to make some changes... now. Because, did you know that if we don't act NOW, by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean (Thats only 31 years away... ie we will be alive for this horrific fact to come true before our eyes - outrageous huh?)
Head over here to check our Lauren's 8 week blog post series and get inspired.
Lauren also recently wrote a blog post for us on 5 Things you can do now to help the Global Plastic Pollution Crisis - If you've got 5 minutes to spare its a great read!
