I'm constantly asked by my pals where they should stay and what that should do on their visit to Bali. And while that guide would take a few days (or weeks!) to write, I'm starting with here with my personal top 5 places to stay on the Bukit Penninsula - one of my absolute favourite areas of Bali.

Let's go:

1. Villa Impossible

If you’re not staying here, you’re definitely sitting at Bingin Beach wishing you were and how to weasel your way in there. Villa Impossible’s location is as waterfront as you may get on the island which lends itself to the most magical views from every room in the Villa. Couple this with free Airport Pick Ups, inclusive breakfast and probably the cheapest waterfront location on the island and you have yourself one very appealing accommodation option. (This may also explain why the Villa is near permanently booked out.) Try your luck to jump online and treat yourself here for a week or so, but I’m just warning – plan ahead! Villa Impossible can sleep up to 4 people for just $120AUD per night. Breakfast is included and with a view like this from your bed, I would suggest getting your fruit salad and Bali Coffee sent straight to your bedside! 2. Mu Resort

Mu resort is the type of place that your worries of the Western world float away as you step foot onto the beautifully landscaped property. The ‘resort’ is made up of a number of bungalows and villas with each room and Bungalow being completely unique with its own quirky and unique features. (For example, check out the below killer shot of the‘Bulan’ Bathroom!)

Made entirely from Bamboo and stone detailing, the Mu Resort architecture will have you in Awe from the moment you step foot onto the cliff-side resort. Leaving no stone unturned, they have thought of every tiny detail throughout the property, including their open air Yoga Shala and beautiful cliff top infinity pool. (Ideal place to watch the surf all day long, order cocktails direct to the poolside and watch the sunset…just sayin’) Best part about it? If you want to mingle with the rest of the good looking crowd that hits Bingin beach or chow down on some insanely good food from The Cashew Tree, they’re just a short stroll away!

3.La Joya

La Joya Eco Resort is located very near Balangan Beach, a cute ‘shanty’ beachside set-up that is made up of very low-key Bamboo shacks serving up Ice cold Bintangs, fresh Coconuts and a few Nasi Gorengs for hungry surfers. La Joya Bungalows, located just up the road from the beach, sit on a stunning cliff side property that overwhelms with its beautifully landscaped property of what seems like in the middle of a farmland. As you walk further into the property, you end up at one of the most beautifully positioned pools in the whole of Bali.

With sweeping views of the surrounding beaches, La Joya’s location gives you no reason to leave. If you’re not one of the lucky ones who get to stay here, fear not! Make a lunch date and pop in for a fresh juice and a dip in their outrageously rad pool.

4.Micks Place

As you’re about to descend the 2000 (ok, maybe more like 100) look to your right to get a glimpse of the beautiful property ‘Micks Place’. Luring you in with a beautiful infinity pool and white washed rock walls surrounding the cliff top property, Micks Place seems like the perfect option for a ‘luxe surfers’ escape. Any further down the stairs and you’re giving up you’re A/C, Pool, Clean white sheets and private shower (Not that we’re complaining, we love Surya house for a solid $20 a night kip!) Micks place is no Hilton but they do boast exceptional service, an amazing pool, lush grounds, an eco-friendly room and all the basic essentials. Like most accommodation options at Bingin, Micks Place is small and cozy with their 5 artful bungalows and one luxe villa sleeping a total of 16 people.

5. Temple Lodge

Temple lodged is perfectly positioned atop of the white cliffs of Bingin Beach and conveniently right next door to Mu resort. This quirky and unique property serves up morning Yoga classes ($10) and the best view for breakfast in the Bukit area. Their rooms are scattered around the Cliffside property, each with their own unique quirks. Shower head out of a Tree Trunk anyone? Ah, yes please! Serving up a fresh menu that feels like everything is picked directly from their surrounding gardens, even if you’re not staying at The Temple Lodge, a yoga session followed by their delicious breakfast menu is highly recommended!
