  • From Paris to California. 5 Minutes with Marion of 'Fringe & Frange' Blog

    January 09, 2017 3 min read

Our dream babe Marion from the beautiful blog Fringe & Frange sat down & let us into her wander-lusting life recently. Long story short, shes living the dream. From Paris to California she seems to balance a life and love of travel, fashion, design & love pretty perfectly. Grab an espresso & delve into her life for five.

Before we get the good stuff, are you a sunset or sunrise lady?

Sunset! I love to watch the sun going down from my porch with my husband or with some friends while having a drink… It’s the best light, the most magical moment!

Sounds perfect...Sunsets all the way baby! Where abouts do you currently live?

I’m currently living in the suburbs of Paris, France!

Beautiful, I have not yet visited France....YET! What's the best café to hit up on Saturday morning in your neck of the woods?

Season, in le Marais area in Paris. I love to go there for a brunch, it’s delicious!

Followed by your favourite local activity?

Shopping? Ahaha! In Paris we have wonderful little shops, some of them are owned by friends so I’m just going there to spend some times with them with walking my dog Maui.

We know you travel a LOT, like a lot a lot. Stoked for you. Where is your favourite beach you have been to on your travels?

No matter how beautiful were the waters of the Bahamas, Mexico or the Maldives, my favorite beach in the whole world is Surfer’s Beach in Malibu, CA.

    What makes it so epic?

The white Pier surrounded by the beautiful houses, the surfers playing in the waves, the Californian sun burning up...

Speaking of travel, ideal long weekend away around Paris?

A trip in the south of France is always a good idea. From Paris you can be in Biarritz in 1h20, and it’s our local french California: sand, waves, cool people, beautiful landscapes… You can drive to Spain and be in a desert (Bardenas) in a few hours. I love it!

    Who’s coming with?

    My husband and our dog!

    What are you taking?

A surfing suit, a camera, a chunky knit for the chilly nights and a pair of shorts and of course, a hat!

Annddd what are you listening to on the way outta town?

I’m listening to mostly alternative music, like Jack Garratt, Mumford & Sons, The Head And The Heart, Otis English, Jimmy Eat World… perfect bands for a roadtrip playlist!

Weird question, but we love food and love to find out other peoples go-to’s (It inspires us to branch out!) What’s your favourite snack, the one that breaks your heart when you find out its not in stock?

I LOVE FOOD TOO! My favorite snack is currently a weird one (but kind of a healthy one): I love celery sticks dipped in peanut butter. Ahhh, so good and so easy to make ! I discovered it a few months ago while I was in Texas and since then I’m always buying this. But in France people do not eat that much of peanut butter so it’s kind of tricky to find the good ones.

Yum I want in! Last but not least, what is one piece of advice that you live by or hold close to your heart?

Always say YES to a new adventure. If it works, you’ll grow. If not, you’ll grow too!

Thanks lady, after getting lost in a daze of Californian sunsets & Paris alleyways I think it's official; If I lived on your side of the world we would be pals! My favourite thing about Marion? Her life motto: "Never Stop Exploring". Amen sister x
