Thanksgiving day is always full of delicious food, spending time with family, and traditions that have been passed down for years. In my family, we spend Thanksgiving all together and enjoy a relaxing day (usually full of a lot of football too!)
I am here to highlight my favorite parts of thanksgiving and tell you how I like to celebrate Turkey day!
Getting dressed up: I always use the excuse of Thanksgiving to wear a fun outfit! This year I decided to wear some cheetah print tights with a leather skirt and sweater! Perfectly cozy yet fun! I layered up lots of my favorite jewelry to complete my look. I am never fully dressed without my La Luna Rose jewels!
Favorite foods: I am a dessert girl but as far as the dinner part I love green bean casserole, here’s my favorite recipe for it below! (From delish.com)
Ingredients:
1 lb. green beans, trimmed
6 tbsp. butter, divided
1 onion, sliced into half moons
8 oz. sliced mushrooms
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 c. flour
3 c. whole milk
1 1/2 c. French's fried onions
Directions:
My favorite dessert is the pecan pie, my family always buys it from our favorite local bakery but you could easily get creative in the kitchen and make your own!
Traditions:
In my family a big tradition is going around in a circle and talking about what you’re thankful for. This is always fun to reflect on the good things in your life and also gives you a chance to look back on your year! It helps make the day joyful when you sit and talk about the things you’re thankful to have in life.
One thing I am thankful for this year is being in good health and having friends who live near and far from me that I have the opportunity to go visit!
Thanksgiving day is such a treat. It leaves you with full bellies and many memories that make you look forward to the holiday all year long!
No matter where you are, Thanksgiving can be a fun day to celebrate and a good time to bring your family together!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Love Ace x
