When we first met Sophie back in 2012 it was like I met my future self in my younger body. Clear to say we had a fair few things in common. From launching her own label at just 21, to traveling the world by herself to NYC where she currently lives and works in the digital industry, Sophie is one go-getting lady that doesn't let anything get in her way of world domination. Between plane rides and cross time-zone messenger chats, we managed to catch up with Sophie for 5 minutes and hear more about what motivated and inspired the beautiful soul behind Sophocles Adventures.
In typical me style, we are off to Vietnam in just 2 days time and are still yet to book a something…anything…For our 10 day trip. If you know me, I’m quite confident that this will not surprise you. After a little last minute stress and a quick flick through the pages of air b n b, my anxiety has been put at bay. The accommodation on offer, served up by local Vietnamese hosts is next to nothing I’ve seen before. Team this with my love of Caffeine and Rice Paper Rolls and I couldn’t be more excited to jump on a plane and hit the streets of Vietnam later this week! Serving up the most outrageously epic looking food, Café Organic is definitely one of the most 'instagrammed' cafes roaming Bali. Wait, I'm pretty sure Summer on really just got into 3rd gear and now it's day-light saving already!? Yeah, the pain is real and the weather don't lie. Autumn is settling in hear in the Southern Hemisphere and I don't know about you....but I am frantically trawling expedia for flights to some place warm and getting inspiration for rad as places to stay on Airbnb.
The pain is made slightly worse as some very good pals are currently honeymooning their way across the Yucatan Penninsula in Mexico. Their sweaty bods lounging around poolside with cocktails in hand and epic beach views in the background is not doing me any favours for getting work done. Instead, I am busy manifesting how I can make our next photoshoot in Mexico happen! And, while I was at it, I came across these super dreamy beach-side Airbnb hotspots (after all, we have to sleep somewhere beautiful to get the shoot done right!)

I think it’s pretty obvious that I am partial to a little sunshine, long beach days & balmy ocean waters. I often find myself deep in a myriad of online travel blogs looking for the next tropical destination to discover. What I had missed in all this research was one of the best gems in my very own current backyard – Magnetic Island!
While I have spent my fair share of time in the Whitsunday islands, Magnetic Island had never been highly discussed as a must visit location. Not to worry, as on a recent work trip to Townsville, it was only a hop skip & a 40 minute ferry ride away and I was on route to what would become, one of the most idyllic pieces of land I have ever discovered in all my tropical researching. (Huge call I know!)
So, I booked a flight back to my favourite island paradise this week and guess what the first thing that came into my head was? FOOD! That's right, as much as I love the beaches, catching up with my beautiful suppliers, driving my scooter through the rice paddies and watching the sunset with my best pal who lives up there...it is always the food that get's me. (Durrr, when doesn't food get me?!)
Our dream babe Marion from the beautiful blog Fringe & Frange sat down & let us into her wander-lusting life recently. Long story short, shes living the dream. It's Bananarama madness around here with the launch of our new tropical collection (Bananas ringsand all) so I thought I would share one of my favourite all-time naughty but healthy but a little naughty treat.
Current status - Melons on the mind thanks to our pretty cute new Watermelon charms we just launched. As well as looking damn cute around your neck, wrist and fingers, we thought we'd see what else Watermelons were good for. And, well, we discovered something pretty epic.
