So, I booked a flight back to my favourite island paradise this week and guess what the first thing that came into my head was? FOOD! That's right, as much as I love the beaches, catching up with my beautiful suppliers, driving my scooter through the rice paddies and watching the sunset with my best pal who lives up there...it is always the food that get's me. (Durrr, when doesn't food get me?!)
One of my all time favourite cafes in Bali is the basically famous 'Beatlenut'. Once nestled way out in the wops in Canggu with not much surrounding it, it is now on the busiest street in central Canggu (if there even is a centre in the 'Gu?). Busier than ever, and for good reason, Beatlenut serves up all the western favourites with a local twist.
Fresh Acai bowls for breakfast washed down by a Chunky Monkey smoothie and followed with a perfect Latte served up with a frangapani. For lunch my go-to is always the Naked Burrito, Nacho's if I'm feeling a little naughty or you can't go past their salad bowls (Choice of 3 salads all in one!).
For Dinner I am a sucker for their fresh rice-paper rolls, followed by a burger aannnnddd of COURSE a slice of their famous cheesecakes. IF you're in luck, Snickers cheesecake will be in stock (They rotate them every few days) if not, you might have to settle for Bounty Cheesecake, Nutella & Banana Cheesecake or a really average Cookies & Cream Cheesecake (Kidding, they are all insanely delicious).
Once you've smashed through the entire menu there, Pop over the rice paddies to their newer and entirely vegetarian cafe, The Shady Shack. Same legends who run it, different fresh twist on meals.
Yep, I'm officially counting sleeps until I land on the island...
x
P.S. Beatlenut cater too! A few years back we were on the island for Christmas & guess who supplied Christmas Dinner? Not to mention the numerous Cheesecakes.....Just sayin'!
Find these guys on facebook herefor more drool-worthy snaps of their food.
