    January 13, 2020 3 min read

I say Paris, you think Eiffel Tower, Champs Elyse, and Croissants... Am I right? The must-see city on a Euro vacay, Paris is not only where you will be mesmerized by the architecture, history and all time beauty but also the Pastries. Delicious, freshly baked, crispy yet gooey French pastries. And these my friend, are absolutely a top reason to travel to Paris for. The below recommendations have been written for us by a Frenchie herself, our intern Nora! She let’s us in on local French knowledge of where to find the best pastries in Paris….Without further ado….

Cedric Famous French Pastry Chef in Paris No. 1

    1. Let’s start with the finest, top 2019 Pastry chef Cédric Grolet’s. He was voted the best pastry chef in the world in 2018 not only for his creation of a delicious pastry but also for his amazing designs of these morsels. If you’re visiting Paris, it’s an absolute non-negotiable re: visiting his patisserie, not only to taste his creations (or 10.. no ones counting) but to oogle over his incredible masterpieces of delicacies. Hot Tip. Head there as soon as you wake up because these pastries are no joke and are often sold out by lunchtime! No plans to visit Paris in the near future? Head to his instagram with a casual 1million + followers over HERE to check this pastry in action.

Address: 6, rue de Castiglione, 75001 Paris

Sebastian Goudard Top 5 Patisseries in Paris, France

    1. For a more traditional take on the delectable French pastry you should head to Sebastien Gaudard. His pastries are the perfect mix between old family recipes handed down from generations before and his original take on these old favourites. If you’re looking for traditional French pastries, Mont-blanc, the Choux à la crème or the Mille-feuille(with a design fit for your instagram to pop off with comments & new bffs) you will love the offerings from Sebastien’s patisserie. It’s up to you whether you choose to devour a few pastries on premise in the Tuileries tea room or load up a bag and head to the park for the ultimate Pastry Picnic.

Address: 22, rue des Martyrs, 75009 Paris

Best Fruit Tart in Paris, France

    1. Can you keep a secret? We hope you can! For the best Tartes aux fruits in Paris head to the blue door in the district of the Marais… and you shall find. The name of the patisserie behind said Blue door is called Le bontemps, a vintage-style tea room with old dishes and mirrors and where you can taste pastries like your Mum had back in the 80’s! Tartes Aux Fruits or not, anything 80’s and I’m am there in a flash!

Address: 57, rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris

Cyril Lignac Top 5 Pastry stores in Paris, France

    1. All good Frenchies know the Pastry chef Cyril Lignac. His patisserie is also a must for the Gourmands. Moreover, you have to taste his famous pastry “la tarte au citron” (a.k.a lemon pie) which is an original with its green topping….. (Insert Love Heart Emoji x 50!)

Address: 2, rue de Chaillot, 75116 Paris

Best Macaroons in the city of Paris, France

    1. And last but definitely not the least, you absolutely can’t visit Paris without tasting a few (hundred) French Macaroons. Nothing quite says Macaroon specialist more than the patisserie of Pierre Hermé. He is by far the Macaroon specialist where you can find a library of flavours, more than you could ever have imaged before you step foot on French soil! But don’t eat too many (Or do, and then come back) because his in his signature dessert, the Ispaphan, is an absolute must try. Why? Because it’s a macaron biscuit complete with the flavours of with rose, cream, raspberries and lychees.

So. Shall we all go to Paris next week?
